A YA Arthurian-Inspired Fantasy Novel

A Realm of Splintered Crowns

Sam Avalon’s senior year was supposed to be painfully ordinary. But when her best friend, Kyra Morat, jokingly dons a crown backstage during their school’s production of The Completely True Story of King Arthur, Sam reaches out to touch it, and the two girls find themselves plunged into the waters of another realm.

Narlimot has spent nearly eighteen years mourning the death of King Arthur beneath the rule of Malin the Mighty, a powerful Steward who was only ever meant to hold the kingdom until its rightful successor could take the throne. But time moves strangely in Narlimot. The Lady of the Lake has disappeared. A masked Black Knight is gathering a quiet resistance. And the story everyone remembers about Arthur’s death may not be the truth at all.

As Sam searches for the reason the crown brought her to Narlimot, Kyra begins asking a more dangerous question: why has no one questioned the story they’ve been told?

A Realm of Splintered Crowns is an Arthurian-inspired fantasy about friendship, inheritance, identity, and a kingdom forced to remember that a crown was never meant to mean possession—but stewardship.
